From the universe of HANU-MAN, rises MAHAKALI, the next chapter of Prasanth Varma’s PVCU (Purana Veera Chitra Udyam), marking the first female superhero in the franchise. The MahaKali teaser, titled Shukracharya’s War Cry, has been released and impresses with its grand scale and mythological presentation.
MahaKali Teaser Showcases Epic Conflict
The MahaKali teaser presents Akshaye Khanna as Shukracharya, a character who seeks justice for the Asuras and aims to unite them against the gods and humans. In contrast, Mahakaali stands firm, confronting evil to restore harmony and peace in the universe.
The final shot, which shows a fierce Mahakaali with numerous arms caring for a baby, is particularly powerful and leaves a deep impression. The visual effects and production scale align with the standards set by HanuMan, the ₹300 Cr blockbuster that launched PVCU.

Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, Mahakali is produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal at RKD Studios. The film features an ensemble cast including Khushbu Sundar, Shriya Reddy, Samuthirakani, Rakesh Bedi, Rajat Kapoor, Nassar, Murali Sharma, Prudhviraj, and others in significant roles.
Netflix has already acquired the OTT rights well before the film’s theatrical debut, signaling strong platform confidence in the project.
